Safaree was born on July 4, 1981, in Marine Park, Brooklyn. His parents had recently immigrated to New York City from Jamaica. Safaree grew up with two sisters: Shaneequa and Samantha. He attended Midwood High School for his education.
Samuels and Minaj were dating in 2000 and were members of The Hood Stars. They broke up after a decade in 2014 but their split inspired some songs in Minaj’s third album, The Pinkprint. He has since dated Nikki Mudarris and Dream Doll.

Safaree Lloyd Samuels was born on July 4, 1981. His parents are from Brooklyn and Jamaica. He went to Midwood High School in New York City. Safareeb started rapping with The Hood Stars group in the early 2000s.
Seven Up, Lou$tar, and Nicki Minaj are all members of the group. They recorded WWE Diva Victoria’s entrance song entitled “Don’t Mess With.” It was included in their compilation album called Theme Addict: WWE The Music Vol. 6. After the group broke up, Samuels became Minaj’s hype man.
In 2010, Samuels co-wrote the song “Did It On ’em” with Minaj for her debut album Pink Friday. He was also featured in her 2012 music video for “Stupid Hole.” In total, he has writing credit for six songs on Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (2012).
